For the role she played as Muriel Pitchett from 1988's Drama The Unintentional Tourist. The actress received one Academy Award. She appeared as a main role in Beetlejuice which was an American horror film that was released in 1988. The film was written and starred by Tim Burton. Davis has received numerous accolades for her work as an actor in both film and television and is noted for her portrayals as strong and real female characters and her work in promoting women in the industry. Davis was captivated by music at a young age. She began playing the flute and piano and played organ well enough when she was a teenager that she could serve as an organist at her Congregationalist church in Wareham. While a kid, she had a dream of becoming an elite soccer player, however the year 2002 saw her suffer an ankle injury during her final year in high school. Following her recovery from the injury, she was able playing as a striker in Pleasant Hill California at Diablo Valley College where she earned an associate's degree in art. In the aftermath of receiving Junior College All-American Honors, she was enrolled at Arizona State University. There doubts about her character led her to abandoning soccer. She then went on to California State University Fullerton where they awarded her the degree of Business Management with a minor in Human Resources She graduated with an Associate's Degree. Then, in Los Angeles, after her studies in management of business and human resource management, she decided to pursue modeling as a profession. This is when she stumbled across a casting call for the W.W.E. Talent scouts were taken aback by her and she received a four-week audition period. Then she relocated from her home in Orlando Florida to begin her training in the company's Performance Center.
